Two constituents of the TNA––PLOTE and TELO––were planning to break ranks with the TNA, TELO leader Vanni District MP Selvam Adaikkilanthan said yesterday.

He said that the TNA, comprising 10 MPs, still did not have an official spokesman or an organiser.

Therefore the TNA constituents had little or no time to speak in Parliament. The time allotted for the TNA was mostly used by other MPs than the four MPs of the PLOTE and the TELO.

As there was no sign of  the issue being sorted out by the TNA leadership the two parties would have to remain independent in Parliament, MP Adaikkilanathan said.

He said that a meeting to discuss their decision to break ranks with the TNA had been held at Mannar on Sunday (13).

MP Adaikkilanathan said that people in their electorates underwent a lot of hardships and none of their grievances had been redressed.
