Person nabbed with two parcels of Kerala ganja worth over a million rupees

A person transporting two parcels containing four kilos of Kerala cannabis was apprehended during a combined search conducted by the Navy and Police at the Sangupiddi roadblock on the evening of 01 March 2023.

The search was carried out by SLNS Welusumana in the Northern Naval Command in coordination with the Punakari Police.The search led to the apprehension of the suspect on a Mannar bound bus from Jaffna.

The street value of the apprehended stock of Kerala cannabis is believed to be over a million rupees.The suspect (26) has been identified as a resident of the Analathivu Island in Jaffna. The suspect along with Kerala cannabis was handed over to the Punakari Police for legal action.
