Peradeniya University PGIS  celebrates silver jubilee

KANDY- The 25th anniversary of the Postgraduate Institute of Science (PGIS) of the University of Peradeniya will be celebrated on Saturday (30) and Sunday (31).

The Research Congress, the principal event, is being held for the 8th consecutive year on Sunday.

In view of the current situation in the country, the congress sessions would be entirely on online, the Media Division of the university said.

The chief guest of the event will be the Ambassador of Germany Holge Seubert. The chief guest and the guests will be received by the Vice Chancellor Professor M.D. Lamawansa.

One hundred and eighty (180) research papers selected out of 240 will be taken up for discussion at the sessions.

Prof. Upul Wijayantha, eminent scientist and professor of chemistry of the University of Loughborough, will deliver the guest lecture.
