The first dose of the Chinese-made Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine will also be given to those over 60 years who have no comorbidities.

Residents of areas which have seen a spike in corona virus positive numbers are being given priority in the vaccination drive, health officials said.

State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control, Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle said the decision to administer the jab to people over 60 years was taken during meeting of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
