Payment of Rs. 5000 dole to needy from June 02

State Minister Shehan Semasinghe yesterday announced that an allowance of Rs. 5,000 each would be given to needy families from 02 June 2021.

Samurdhi beneficiaries, low income earners, those who lost income due to COVID-19 and lockdowns and those receiving other government aid would be eligible to receive the Rs. 5,000, he said.

The State Minister said Rs. 30 billion had been allocated for the dole.
