Pavithra says only 20 per cent need hospitalisation, but all are admitted
Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi has claimed that though only 20 per cent of Covid-19 patients required hospital treatment, in spite of difficulties, the government still continues to admit all to medical facilities.
Minister Wanniarachchi said so on Monday (7) after opening a transit facility for Covid-19 patients at Warallawatta, Gampaha. The Navy has transformed a section of Kolitex garment premises into a transit medical facility comprising 650 beds whereas in the second stage 1,200 beds would be added.
The Health Ministry quoted lawmaker Wanniarachchi as having said that the Navy had completed 50 per cent of the second stage and the facility would be ready soon
