Pakistan Defence Secy. here
Pakistan Defence Secretary, Lt. General (R) Hamood Uz Zaman Khan, is here for the fourth Sri Lanka-Pakistan Defence Dialogue. Sri Lanka-Pakistan staff talks were elevated to Defence Dialogue, in Oct 2018, during the Yahapalana administration.
Government sources said that the Pakistan and Sri Lankan delegations would be led by Lt. Gen. Khan and Gen. (R) Kamal Gunaratne, respectively.
The Pakistani delegation is scheduled to call on National Security Advisor Sagala Ratnayake who is also the Chief of Staff to President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The Chief of Defence Staff and Service Commanders will attend the dialogue and discussions, expected to cover training, bilateral defence exercises, exchange of military high level visits, ship visits, Airforce exercises and purchase of defence equipment from Pakistan.
Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Islamabad Admiral (R) Ravi Wijegunaratne confirmed the scheduled talks.
