Outgoing Lankan HC in Delhi arranges for a third batch of local employees to visit Lanka
The High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi recently felicitated seven members of its local staff who have completed 24 years of service.
Outgoing Sri Lanka High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda presented mementos to these staff members, recognizing their long service, at a simple ceremony held at the High Commission on 18th August.
The High Commissioner, with the support of the Sri Lankan private sector, has made arrangements for these long-serving seven staff members, and their spouses/family members, to undertake a visit to Sri Lanka, with a five-night stay.
High Commissioner Moragoda and Jennifer Moragoda also handed over the air tickets to them at the felicitation ceremony.
This was the third consecutive time that the High Commission felicitated its long-serving staff members. In 2021, five staff-members, who had served more than 30 years, were felicitated, while in 2022, an equal number of employees, who had completed 25 years of service were felicitated. Similar visits to Sri Lanka were arranged for them and their spouses/family members, as well.
With the Sri Lanka visit of this group, the High Commission has been able to arrange such visits to all its local employees who have served more than 24 years, prior to the forthcoming final departure of High Commissioner Moragoda completing his tenure in India.
