Other death row inmates too demand their sentences be commuted

Death row prisoners of the Welikada Prison held a rooftop protest yesterday (25). About 150 inmates had begun a hunger strike demanding that their sentences too be commuted, prison officials said, after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa pardoned a former lawmaker who had been condemned for an election-related killing.
