Opposition to appoint alternative committee

PSC to probe bankruptcy:

Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa, on Saturday, announced that a committee consisting of Opposition MPs would be appointed to look into the causes of the country’s economic crisis and identify those who were responsible for it.

Premadasa said, in a media statement, that the government had announced the appointment of a parliamentary select committee to identify the causes of the economic crisis which led to the country’s bankruptcy. The Opposition parties had decided to boycott the PSC as it was headed by a government MP.
