OPPO grew in a declining market in 2020: Founder/ CEO
OPPO ended 2020 on a positive note having delivered a host of new products and services to the world all of which were received brilliantly by their discerning clientele the world over. 2020 marked 5th year anniversary of OPPO in Sri Lanka and 16th anniversary globally.
In retrospect, Founder &CEO of OPPO in a message to the group’s staff exceeding 40,000 members noted: “We can be proud that in 2020, OPPO grew in a declining market. We remain the market leader in Southeast Asia. In India, we saw sales continue to rise with a 33% increase in brand preference. We tripled our shipments in Western Europe and Japan. By the end of 2020 we had almost 400M worldwide users of our ColorOS operating system.”
OPPO launched an assortment of new models in 2020: OPPO F15, F17 & F17 Pro & Reno 3. These devices have performed well in terms of sales along with Enco W51, Enco Free andother wireless headphones of the Encorange which is a breakthrough both in terms of style & functionality, also launched early this year.
In November, OPPO hosted INNO DAY themed ‘Technology for Mankind – Kindness for the World’ as an online event. INNO DAY is an annual forum where industry experts, partners & key opinion leader elaborate on the future of technology. INNO Day this year saw the presentation ofOPPO X, a rollable handset featuring flexible display & structural stacking. Also unveiled was Full-path Color Management System which will be incorporated in all flagship smartphones from 2021. This technology enables authentic & accurate color reproduction via full DCI-P3 wide gamut and 10-bit color depth.
