OPA to hold 35th Annual Conference from 09-10 August

The Organization of Professional Association of Sri Lanka scheduled its flagship event which is the Annual Conference to be held on 09th and 10th August at Kingsbury Colombo.

OPA is the apex body of Professionals in Sri Lanka with 52 professional associations across 33 disciplines covering over 60,000 professionals who are key decision makers either in public sector or private enterprises in Sri Lanka.

An OPA release said: The main theme of Annual Conference in this year is “Sri Lanka’s Challenging Path Towards Economic recovery & Stability”. The main theme along with all sub themes in Technical Sessions are very much timely issues which needs the brainstorming & discussion among all professionals in Sri Lanka to suggest & recommend all adaptive management strategies to overcome existing economic crisis. All professionals have a mandatory obligation in this regard to facilitate a way forward with mitigatory yet sustainable measures focusing speedy economic recovery and stability.

During the inaugural session on Aug 9 President Ranil Wickramasinghe is scheduled to grace the event as the Chief Guest and Alejandro Alvarez de la Campa, the country manager of International Finance Corporation (IFC) will deliver the Keynote address.

A media conference was held last week to announce the event where the Eagle Logistics Colombo Pvt Ltd (Platinum Sponsor) presented a cheque of Rs one million to President of OPA Ruchira Gunasekara to cover the expenses of the event. Among those present were members of the OPA Annual Conference Committee led by Sarath Gamage, Sujeewa Lal Dahanayake, General Secretary ‘OPA, K.P. Baskaran – Treasure, Jayantha Gallehewa Convener of the Annual Conference Committee/Vice President of ‘OPA and Office bearers and Committee Members of OPA.
