Onset of Covid-19 fourth wave imminent – SLMA

The Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) yesterday (20) warned that the country was heading for the initial phase of the COVID-19 fourth wave.

The warning was issued by SLMA President Dr. Padma Gunaratne yesterday.

Addressing the media, she urged both the government and the public to be cautious as there had been no significant drop in Covid-19 positive cases despite lockdowns, etc.

The SLMA Chief said that at the time the government imposed travel restrictions the Delta variant hadn’t entered the country.
