One arrested over TT theft

The Western Province Southern Crime Division has nabbed a person who entered Temple Trees, during the protest on 09 July, and committed theft. He is a resident of Bandaranaike Pura, in Rajagiriya.The Police have found brass wall decorations, camera equipment and a camera bag in the suspect’s house.

The police say that the 60-year-old man had entered Temple Trees with another group, posing as protesters, and made off with the items from the media office there.The Prime Minister’s Media Unit has complained to the Kollupitiya Police that the equipment from the media unit of Temple Trees has been stolen.Investigations are continuing to arrest other suspects, who have stolen the property from the Prime Minister’s Official Residence.
