Oman…here we come

In mid-February, Sri Lankans, in Oman, were eagerly awaiting the arrival of Rajiv and The Clan, along with Yohani, of ‘Manike Mage Hithe’ fame, Falan Andrea, and Satheeshan, the original rapper of ‘Manike Mage Hithe.’

Unfortunately, the two events, which were scheduled for February 10th and 11th, in Oman, had to be postponed due to the spread of the Omicron variant.

However, that scene has now improved and the rescheduled dates, for the two postponed events, are March 10th and 11th.

According to Rajiv, the event on the 10th is a dinner dance, and the 11th is a public show, and the Sri Lankans, at that end, are enthusiastically looking forward to the arrival of the entertainers, from Sri Lanka.

Rajiv and The Clan have been to Oman, in the past, but for the rest – Yohani, Falan, and Satheeshan, this would be their first ever trip to Oman.

During their February trip to Dubai – Satheeshan, Yohani, Falan, and Rajiv

Early last month (February 5th), Yohani, Falan, Satheeshan, and Rajiv and The Clan, were seen in action in Dubai.

Rajiv, in the meanwhile, is working on several other projects, to keep local music lovers entertained.

Towards the latter part of this month (March 26th), he is putting together a show, called ‘Meet The Legends Of The ’70s.’

The concert will be held at the Epitome Hotel, in Kurunegala, and will feature several well-known stars of the seventies, including Annesley Malawana, Indrani Perera, Marazelle, and Anil Bharathi.

Rajiv also has plans to put together a concert, with Indrani Perera in the spotlight, along with the participation of some of her contemporary veterans.

Desmond: Nonstop session of 30 songs

During the late Clarence Wijewardene era, Indrani was big in the scene, with the trio, The Three Sisters.

Another project that Rajiv is working on is an album, connected with the late Desmond de Silva.

Titled ‘Dance Along With Desmond,’ the album will feature 30 songs, in a nonstop session, with Desmond in the vocal spotlight, backed by Rajiv and The Clan

Rajiv says he has several more surprises up his sleeves, adding that he is very keen to keep music lovers happy, and contended, in this pandemic setup.
