Ocean Odyssey arrives at Colombo Port

“Ocean Odyssey” carrying 108 American tourists arrived at the Colombo Port yesterday afternoon. Owned by an American company, the vessel is 105 metres long and 18.5 metres wide. It sailed to Colombo from the Cochin Port in India and is scheduled to sail to Trincomalee Port today (19).

The shipping agent company, “Dave Marine”, has said the tourists will disembark at the Colombo Port and travel around Colombo, Kurunegala Habarana, Sigiriya and Trincomalee by luxury buses for about two and a half days before boarding the vessel at the Trincomalee Port on 21.

“Ocean Odyssey” is scheduled to sail from Trincomalee Port to Thailand on 21 December at 7:00 PM.

Marking the arrival of the ship for the first time at the port of Colombo, the ceremonial exchange of light took place between the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva and the Captain of the ship.A group of officials from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Services, Port Authority and the Shipping Agent Company participated in this event.
