Nuwara-Eliya resort manager arrested with exhibits of animal trophies

Acting on a tip-off, eighteen deer antlers and several parts of dead animals displayed at a resort in Nuwara-Eliya were seized and the manager of the place was arrested on Monday by the Nuwara-Eliya police.
The Nuwara_Eliya Police OIC along with a team of police officers carried out the raid.
Police said the animal parts had been handed over to the Nuwara-Eliya Wildlife Department Office. Eighteen deer antlers, two deer legs, two buffalo antlers, a stock of seashells, a python skin and a large number of relaxed butterflies had also been seized, police said.
The resort manager would be produced before the Nuwara-Eliya Magistrate by the Nuwara-Eliya Wildlife Officers, police said.
