NSBM Green University inaugurates new intake of undergraduate programmes

NSBM Green University, the nation’s premier degree awarding institute, successfully concluded the inauguration ceremony to officially welcome the newly enrolled batch for the March 2024 Intake of its Undergraduate Degree Programmes. The ceremony held yesterday (12th March) at the NSBM premises brought together a distinguished gathering of NSBM staff headed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, esteemed guests, parents, and students.

This inauguration ceremony signifies a notable milestone in the remarkable journey of NSBM Green University, as it welcomed over 1500 students embarking on their higher educational pursuits across various Undergraduate Degree Programs offered by the Faculties of Business, Computing, Engineering, Science, and Law. The ceremony unfolded under three sessions and provided an immersive experience for all the participants, featuring keynote speeches, presentations and sessions intended to enlighten the new entrants on the basic procedures, operations and other important matters related to their academic journey at NSBM Green University.

Each session of the ceremony featured a distinguished chief guest. High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Santosh Jha; Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Ms. Wasantha Perera; and President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry of Sri Lanka, Mr. Keerthi Gunawardane, graced the occasion as chief guests and delivered inspiring keynote speeches that brought a unique perspective and instilled motivation in the hearts and minds of the new entrants.

During the ceremony, the new entrants were congratulated on selecting a fully government-owned higher education institute like NSBM to pursue their higher education and also encouraged to benefit from the state-of-the-art amenities, ultra-modern research facility and fully-fledged international university setting at NSBM.

NSBM Green University initiated registrations for the March 2024 Intake immediately following the conclusion of the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination. Remarkably, the university completed the entire registration process within a short span and facilitated the prompt commencement of studies as a proactive measure to address delays that occurred in conducting the A/L examination.
