NPP to move SC against Economic Transformation Bill

The JVP-led National Peple’s Power (NPP) would challenge the Economic Transformation Bill in the Supreme Court, MP Vijitha Herath told The Island yesterday.

The government submitted the Bill to Parliament last Wednesday (22). Lawmaker Herath said that their lawyers were in the process of studying the Bill. On the same day, the government submitted the Public Financial Management Bill for the first reading.

The government declared that the two significant Bills were meant to bolster the country’s economy.
