No breakthrough in probe into theft of Devalaya funds

Ratnapura police probing the theft of money collected from the tills of the Sabaragamuwa Maha Saman Devalaya and stored away for safekeeping within the temple premises said that they did not out the possibility of the thieves having received inside help.There are 60 CCTV cameras within the Devale precincts but the theft had not been recorded in any one of them, police said.
Ratnapura Maha Saman Devalaya is a shrine dedicated to deity Saman, one of the guardian gods of Sri Lanka, according to the Mahavamsa chronicle accounts. It is visited by thousands of local and foreign visitors daily.
