NKAR Travels and Tours (Pvt) Ltd, a premier travel agency and leading name in the Sri Lankan tourism industry, has reaffirmed its commitment to sports development in the country by stepping up as the main sponsor for Isipatana College’s rugby team for the upcoming season. This significant partnership was officially announced during a special function held at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo last Friday.

Isipatana College, renowned for its rich history and dominant presence in schools rugby, boasts an impressive track record of achievements. In the previous season, the team showcased its formidable skills by clinching the runners-up position in both the league and knockout tournaments, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to excellence on the field. With NKAR Travels and Tours’ support, Isipatana College aims to build upon its past success and elevate its performance to new heights in the upcoming competitions.

The announcement comes amidst the release of the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) annual calendar for the year 2024. Among the highly anticipated events is the Under-19 schools rugby league, slated to commence in June and extend throughout the season.

A noteworthy development in this year’s tournament structure is the expansion to include eight teams per group in the league segment, bringing the total number of participating teams to 16. This strategic move promises to intensify the competition and provide a platform for showcasing the immense talent and skill of young rugby players across the country. Following seven weeks of exhilarating rugby action, a super round will ensue, a thrilling climax as the top four teams vie for the coveted cup championship.
