Nightclub scene…deteriorating!

A highly respected figure is reported as having said that nightlife is destroying Sri Lanka’s culture!

If I’m to go back the pages of time, to the good old days, when we had nightclub venues, like My Kind of Place (MKOP), Chapter One, The Little Hut, Blue Elephant, etc., I would agree with that statement.

According to informed sources, checking out the scene now, one gets the impression that drugs are prevalent, as well – in addition to drunkenness, fights, and with perverts in the midst, too.

There have been instances where girls have had to be carried to their vehicles, heavily intoxicated.

I’m told that even underage guests are allowed entrance.

Some blame the security, and the suppose-to-be-bouncers, at the entrance, saying that it’s their duty to ensure that only the right people are allowed entry.

However, that is not happening and if the nightclub scene continues to deteriorate, then I think it’s high time the authorities stepped in and conducted random checks, to ensure that everything is above board.
