NHDA fraud: Accountant, auditor interdicted
Urban Development and Housing Minister, Prasanna Ranatunga, has called for a report from the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA), following the media disclosure of the failure on the part of the state enterprise to conduct a proper inquiry into the alleged fraud at its Kalutara Office in 2018, and also the first quarter of this year.
An official of the Ministry told The Island that nine NHDA employees, including the chief accountant and an audit officer of its Kalutara Office had been interdicted over their involvement in what he called a massive fraud.
They had been interdicted, following the disclosure of the NHDA being defrauded of payments received over a period of time..
