New look…and a new scene
Social media users, and those in the fashion and teledrama, and movie scene, know her as Samadhi Kothalawala. However, this talented young lady says she would now be known as Tenaya Stephanie (Kothalawala).
Tenaya is quite popular on social media, especially on Facebook, and her uploads generate a lot of ‘likes’ and comments. In fact, she was featured in our Glam Scene on Thursday, September 23rd.
“I took on a new identity as I want to give myself a new look and give my friends, and followers, something to shout about,” said Tenaya.
With that in mind, she has put together a club for her fans – Tenaya Stephanie Official Fan Club.
Twenty-four-year-old Tenaya has been acting, since her childhood days, and that’s because she comes from a family of artistes and film directors,.
She already has 10 films to her credit, including ‘Inspector Geetha,’ ‘Muthu Salaba,’ ‘Aathma Warusha,’ ‘God Father,’ ‘First Love Pooja,’ ‘No Problem Darling,’ and ‘Midnight.’
These films were directed by Deshamanya Kusumchandra Gamage, Tenaya’s grandfather.
She is also seen as the mistress to a king in the film ‘Sri Wickrama,’ directed by Mohan Niyaz, acted as a nurse in ‘Abisheka,’ directed by Sripalee Hettiarachchi, and played the role of a lover in ‘GINDARI 3,’ directed by Udayakantha Warnakulasuriya.
In the movie ‘Rush,’ Tenaya takes on the role of a university student who also performs in a dance troupe.
‘Mama Aahale Uda,’ ‘Heily,’ ‘Kiduradari,’ ‘Amaliya,’ ‘Rajayogaya,’ ‘Hoda Wede’ and ‘Sakuge Kathawa,’ are some of the teledramas she has acted in, plus appearances in musical videos and TV commercials.
She also got the opportunity to work with clients from India, the UK and the USA, in the modelling field.
“I am still working on perfecting my modelling career and I plan to do that scene with the well-known Brian Kerkoven.”
There never seems to be a dull moment for Tenaya as she has also been involved in roller skating and dancing, and winning medals, in the process, as well as editing a monthly online magazine.
“I love animals and gardening, pencil art, and writing articles, and I now want to get involved in horse riding, air rifle shooting, hockey and kung fu,” said Tenaya, adding that once overseas travel is possible, she would like to visit Amazing Thailand.
“Your articles, in The Island, about Thailand, have excited me and Thailand would be my first choice, for a vacation.”
Tenaya also went to say that she is a big fan of Alston Koch, of ‘Disco Lady’ fame.
