New Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs O. L. Ameer Ajwath has been appointed Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The appointment was made by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Ajwath has already served as ambassador and senior diplomat in Oman, Yemen, Brunei, Singapore, Switzerland and India.

Ambassador Ajwath, a multilingual, holds a degree in Arabic and Islamic studies, and he also holds an LL.B and LL.M. While serving as Sri Lankan ambassador to Oman, he authored the book: Sri Lanka – Oman Relations: Past, Present and Future.
