Netherlands surprise Sri Lanka in warm-up game

Netherlands stunned Sri Lanka in a warm-up game lead up to the T-20 World Cup in Miami on Tuesday with a 20-run win.

Batting first, Netherlands posted 181 for five in their 20 overs. Sri Lanka did not field any of their leading bowlers in their first warm-up game of the tournament but their batting was at full strength and they should have chased down the target of 182.

None of the top order batters got going during the run chase. Only captain Wanindu Hasaranga with 43 off 15 balls and former captain Dasun Shanaka with 35 not out off 20 balls showed any resistance.

Sri Lanka play their second warm-up game on Saturday against Ireland also in Miami.
