Nearly 650 people arrested for violating COVID prevention regulations

Nearly 650 people had been arrested for violating health regulations in the 24 hours that ended at 6.00 am Wednesday (15), Police Headquarters sources said. The Police have also taken into custody 92 vehicles.

So far, 72,113 people have been arrested for violating COVID-19 prevention regulations since October 30 last year.

Meanwhile, 2,052 persons and 596 vehicles were inspected at 13 roadblocks set up at the entry points to the Western Province on Tuesday (14).

Police headquarters said 198 vehicles attempting to cross into Western Province from other provinces without a valid permit were turned back.
