Nawaloka Laboratory sets new healthcare standards with ISO 15189:2022 accreditation
Nawaloka Laboratory has announced its achievement as the first laboratory in the country to successfully elevated to the latest version of ISO 15189 accreditation, namely ISO 15189:2022. The surveillance was conducted by the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board who serves as the national authority responsible for upholding and maintaining the standards for clinical and testing laboratories across Sri Lanka. At the core of this accreditation lies a robust test scope covering a comprehensive range of 87 tests. These encompass pivotal domains such as Clinical Biochemistry, Chemical Pathology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Serology.
Commenting on the achievement, Nawaloka Laboratory Management said: “We are proud to announce this historic achievement as the first laboratory in Sri Lanka to attain ISO 15189:2022 accreditation, by the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board. In a recent milestone, Nawaloka Laboratory underwent an extensive upgrade, consolidating into a single, comprehensive unit spanning an impressive 20,000 square feet. This expansion encompasses not only state-of-the-art facilities but also includes a fully logistic area, further enhancing our capacity to deliver top-notch healthcare services.
