Navy takes hold of consignment of medicinal pills in Mannar

The Navy recovered a substantial quantity of Pregabalin pills, totaling 6,000, during a search operation conducted in the coastal vicinity of Oluthuduwai, Mannar last Monday (11). These Pregabalin pills, concealed in the Oluthuduwai beach, are suspected to have been smuggled into the country. The Navy remains constantly vigilant and conducts operations to prevent illegal activities emanating from sea routes.

As an extension of these efforts, SLNS Thammanna and SLNS Gajaba in the North Central Naval Command carried out this operation in Oluthuduwai beach. The medicinal pills recovered in this operation were handed over to the Divisional Crime Detective Bureau, Mannar for onward investigation, the Navy said.
