Navy take on CR&FC in ‘Plate’ segment match

Navy Sports Club will lock horns with CR&FC in a key ‘Plate’ segment match of the Nippon Paint Company sponsored Inter-Club League Rugby Tournament set to kick off at Longden Place this evening.

Navy SC played well in the first few matches of the league tournament, but find themselves contesting the Plate segment of the tournament despite having a good team on paper.

One of the key features of the fixture today is that Navy SC’s Yoshitha Rajapaksa is set to play his farewell game in his career. Navy SC beat Army SC in their last outing and is gunning to win this game.

CR&FC is also up against the wall this evening and have to win this game at all costs. The side has outstanding players in the likes of Adeesha Weeratunga, Kavindu Costa and Supun Warnakulasuiya.

The other two teams contesting the Plate segment of the tournament are Air Force Sports Club and Army Sports Club.

The Cup segment of the tournament is contested by Kandy SC, Havelocks SC, CH&FC and Police SC.
