Navy seizes nearly two kilos of ICE at Erukkalampiddi

The Navy apprehended three suspects following the detection of nearly two kilos of Crystal Methamphetamine (ICE) during a special operation carried out at Erukkalampiddi in Mannar on Friday.
The Navy said a group of naval personnel attached to SLNS Gajaba in the North Central Naval Command had conducted the operation together with the Mannar Police.
The operation led to the detection of about 1.76 kilos of Methamphetamine. Acting on information divulged by the two suspects, the raiding party nabbed another person and took a three-wheeler into custody.
The gross street value of the seized drugs is believed to be more than eight million rupees, the Navy said.
The suspects were identified as residents of Mannar and Pesalai between 21 and 39 years of age.
The suspects along with the drugs and vehicles taken into custody had been handed over to the Mannar Police for onward legal proceedings, the Navy said.
Mannar Police are conducting further investigations.
