Navy rushes ashore fisher for treatment

The Navy on Tuesday rushed ashore in a fast attack craft a fisherman who had fallen sick while at sea and admitted him to Trincomalee hospital for treatment.

The fisherman who was aboard a multiday fishing trawler in seas about 47 nautical miles (about 87 km) northeast of the Foul Point, Trincomalee, had suddenly fallen sick and was in need of medical attention. The 04 Fast Attack Craft Flotilla (4 FAF) attached to the Eastern Naval Command carried out the evacuation in rough seas.

The patient was brought to the Trincomalee Harbour and after being first aid and rushed to the General Hospital, Trincomalee for further treatment.
