Navy nets suspects with 10 kilos of Kerala cannabis

The Navy and the Police apprehended a person with over 10 kilos of Kerala cannabis during a joint operation carried out in Pallimunai, Mannar, on the evening of March 3.

SLNS Therapuththa in the North Western Naval Command, and SLNS Gajaba in the North Central Naval Command carried out the raid with the help of the Police Station Vice Branch Mannar, and apprehended a suspect with 10.4 kilos of Kerala cannabis in five packages.

The gross street value of the seized stock of Kerala cannabis is believed to be over three million rupees.

The suspect has been identified as a resident of Pallimunai area, aged 42. He, along with the stock of Kerala cannabis, was handed over to the Mannar Police for onward legal action.
