Navy marks its 72nd anniversary

  As part of a series of religious programmes to mark the 72nd Anniversary of the Navy, a religious event was held at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya on 28 December 2022 with the participation of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera and the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit Mala Lamahewa.

The event was organised by the Naval Buddhist Association. Commander of the Navy and President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit visited Chief Incumbent of the temple Ven. Kollupitiye Mahinda Thera.

The President of Naval Buddhist Association and Director General Engineering, Rear Admiral Ravi Ranasinghe, Deputy Chief of Staff and Director General Operations, Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake, Director Generals, flag – rank officers and naval personnel from the Navy Headquarters and the Western Naval Command were also present on this occasion.
