Navy excel at 37th Senior National Rowing Championship

Sri Lanka Navy rowers excelled winning gold and silver medals at the 37th Senior National Senior Rowing Championship held on November 4 and 5 at the Diyawanna Lake in Baththaramulla. The event was organized by Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka.

Rowers from 12 rowing clubs contested in the championship in which eight men’s and six women’s teams from Navy Sailing Pool raced for coveted glory.In the Open Men’s Pairs Naleen Madushanka and Namal Premakumara won gold medals. In the Open Men’s Fours Gayan Satharasinghe, Naleen Madushanka, Namal Premakumara and Sankalpa Samarakoon won silver medals.

Meanwhile, Udeshini Sumanatissa and Udeshika Subhashini bagged gold medals in the Open Women’s Pairs. In addition, Udeshini Sumanatissa, Nirosha Sandamali, Udeshika Subhashini and Madushani Jayasinghe won silver medals in the Open Women’s Fours.
