Navy bust gold smuggling racket in Mannar

The Sri Lanka Navy during a special operation mounted off Oluthuduwai, Mannar on Friday (03 November 2023)  evening intercepted a dinghy on suspicion and were able to detect about 02 kg and 150 g of gold concealed in the dinghy .

Five persons who were on board the dinghy were taken into Naval custody and handed over to the Customs Preventive Office, Kankasanthurai together with gold for onward legal proceedings
