Navy brings critically injured fisherman ashore for medical attention

The Sri Lanka Navy on 21st August 2023 brought ashore a fisherman who had sustained injuries following a brawl while aboard a local multiday fishing trawler. Upon being brought ashore, he was transferred to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

The multiday fishing trawler named ‘Sapna 08’ (Reg. No. IMUL-A-1004 TLE) with six crew members on board set sail from the Kudawella fisheries harbour on 17th August. A brawl that took place among the fishermen resulted in one of them getting hurt with cut injuries  around his neck and was in critical condition.
