National Savings Bank felicitates ‘She’ who has challenged Covid

A splendid and meaningful evening which highlighted the woman’s role in today’s world, the challenges and difficulties faced by the woman and empowerment of the woman, organized by National Savings Bank (NSB) was held at Waters Edge Hotel, Battaramulla, on March 8, International Women’s Day.
This event was held under this year’s theme of International Women’s Day, declared by the United Nations Organization, “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world” and Ms. Shiranthi Rajapakse, the wife of the Prime Minister graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Pavithradevi Wanniarachchi, the Minister of Health, Secretaries to the ministries, senior administrative officers, invited chairmen, Ms. Keasila Jayawardena, the chairperson of National Savings Bank, Board of Directors, General Manager/CEO and the senior management of the bank, the famous screenplay writer and film director Jayantha Chandrasiri and 16 ladies who have contributed to the national cause of protecting the people of this country from the spread of Covid-19 were also present on the occasion.
