National Anthem distorted at Lanka Premier League Cricket tournament?

Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, KDN Ranjith Ashoka said yesterday that an investigation would be conducted into a complaint that the National Anthem was distorted at the opening ceremony of the Lanka Premier League Cricket tournament.

In a statement issued to the media, Ashoka said that it was highly regrettable to note the National Anthem had been distorted at a ceremony that attracts international attention.  Changing the national anthem is unconstitutional and such an act cannot be approved of. Hence action would be taken to conduct an immediate probe into the matter, he said.
