Nalin Wickremasinghe elected uncontested as MCA president

Nalin Wickremasinghe, a retired banker, now General Manager at Mode Group of Companies was elected uncontested as the 42nd President of the Mercantile Cricket Association at the 104th Annual General Meeting, held via Zoom platform from the MCA Legends Wing yesterday evening.

MCA which was formed by the British Expatriates in 1911 is one of the oldest Sports Associations in Sri Lanka.

Wickremasinghe, the 28th Sri Lankan to sit on the MCA throne, takes over from Rohana Dissanayake of David Pieris Group of Companies.

Last year’s chairman, Tournament Committee, Tarindra Kaluperuma from Stafford Motors Co. is the new General Secretary.
