Myanmar cultural delegation visiting Sri Lanka this week

A Cultural delegation from Myanmar will visit Sri Lanka from 25 August to 01 September 2023. The delegation includes trustees of the Sacred Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar.

The delegation is scheduled to witness the Kandy Esala Perahera which is now taking place from 21 to 30 August at the invitation of Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela. During their stay in Sri Lanka, they are also scheduled to visit Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Dambulla, Habarana and Colombo.

Ambassador Janaka Bandara and the officials of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Yangon successfully coordinated the visit with a view to strengthen long standing religious and cultural connectivity between the two countries.
