Muralidaran’s knock powers Joes

Naren Muralidaran scored an unbeaten century as St. Joseph’s posted their second consecutive total over 300 runs on day one of the Under 19 traditional cricket encounter against Ananda at Darley Road on Monday.

The Joes amassed over 400 runs against Royal over the weekend where Muralidaran’s contribution was 47. Yesterday the number three batsman top scored with an unbeaten 131 runs for the Joes to score 376 for five wickets declared. His knock which included 16 fours and a six came in 167 balls.

However, Muralidaran’s was not the top knock of the day as Pasindu Menaka top scored with 155 runs for Maliyadeva to top 300 runs on day one of their match against St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota at Kurunrgala.
