Multicultural Independence Day celebration in Kandy

A group of children representing Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities in Udatenna jointly lit the traditional oil lamp on Independence Day to mark the commencement of a project to clean and repair the road leading to their village . The campaign was organised by the Udatenna Samagi Rural Development Society to mark the 73rd anniversary of Independence.
