MP Raghavan remembers late FM Kadirgamar as a fine example of selfless service to motherland above ethnicity

SLPP National List MP Dr. Suren Raghavan said that wartime Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar was a fine example of someone rendering selfless service to the motherland above ethnicity.

 Dr. Raghavan made the remarks after paying floral tributes to the statue of Late Lakshman Kadirgamar in Colombo to commemorate the 16th anniversary of his assassination.

He recalled that Kadirgamar had given up his internationally influential legal profession and stood up for the country facing a hostile international community during one of the most challenging times for mother Lanka.

The LTTE assassinated Kadirgamar at his Colombo residence on the night of 12 August , 2005 during the Oslo-arranged Ceasefire Agreement.
