Dinusha Karunaratne was in the spotlight, in our Glam Scene, of Thursday, March 25, 2021, and her photo did generate a lot of ‘oohs and aahs,’ on social media, and ‘likes,’ and superlative comments, as well. Having had her initial grooming, with Brian Kerkoven, she says she is now very keen to make her presence felt in the local fashion world.

A chat with Dinusha revealed the following…

1. How would you describe yourself?

My friends would be in a better position to give a good description of me! Hahaha! Jokes apart, I would say that I’m a simple person…nothing pretentious about me. I’m kind, and I always look at things that gives me happiness.

2. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I have a heart full of love and, sometimes, I feel that people don’t appreciate the good that I do for them. So, yes, may be if I could build up a kind of immunity to those kind of people!

To have my father back with us. He is no more in the land of the living and we all miss him so much.

4. School?

I did my O/Levels at St. Bernadette’s Model School, and A/Levels at Royal Collage, Kurunegala. I didn’t get involved in any activities, while at school, as I concentrated on my studies.

No. I don’t believe in these things. You will never ever be able to lead a normal life if you are a superstitious person.

9. Your ideal guy?

My dream guy would be someone who is loving, caring, understanding, and supportive, and not too possessive. Tall, dark and handsome, or tall and handsome, are not in my priority list.

10. Which living person do you most admire?

I would say, with pride, my mother. She is there as my guiding light.

11. Which is your most treasured possession?

My daughter, of course. My world revolves around her, and I love her dearly.

12. If you were marooned on a desert island, who would you like as your companion?

Me on a desert island! Goodness me, I would go crazy. I would need someone who could lift my spirits up and give me the confidence to know that…yes, we can survive!

Can’t thing of anything major that would have embarrassed me in a big way….

14. Done anything daring?

I guess answering your 20 questions! Okay, yes…when certain problems did crop up, I was daring enough to find solutions to them, almost immediately.

15. Your ideal vacation?

I would say a week’s stay in Nuawara-Eliya as I love that kind of climate. Or, may be, a vacation in Switzerland…when the pandemic is no more!

16. What kind of music are you into?

I like the classical stuff, and rock music. What a contrast! but, that’s my kind of music.

17. Favourite radio station:

V FM and Hiru FM. I like their style.

18. Favourtie TV station:

Hiru, Sirisa and Derana. I like the programme content of these three TV stations.

19. What would you like to be born as in your next life?

Considering the way the world is suffering, at the moment, perhaps a living angel, to help all those in distress.
