The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) has arrested a woman and her son for maintaining close affiliations with drug baron, ‘Kudu Salindu’, who is in CID custody.
The PNB also took into custody Rs 50 million from the possession of the suspects. The PNB believes that the money was earned by selling drugs.
The PNB had earlier received information that an account, maintained at a private bank in Bandaragama, received large amounts of money, which was immediately withdrawn from ATM machines.
The police then arrested the two suspects. They confessed to managing part of Salindu’s cash flow.
The woman is 67 years old and her son 34.
