More SL women need to take up vocational training – Dullas
By Ifham Nizam
Only a small number of Sri Lankan women follow vocational training courses, Power and Energy Minister Dullas Alhapperuma said yesterday, speaking at the ‘Gamin Gamata’ National Programme to create awareness and guidance on vocational training for the youth.
The Minister said more women should receive vocational training to increase the representation of women in the workforce.
“This Vocational Training Authority made significant progress under President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The current head of state, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa also wants to train a skilled workforce.”
