More petitions challenge Economic Transformation Bill and Public Financial Management Bill in SC

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena yesterday announced that the Supreme Court had informed him that several more petitions had been filed before the court against the Economic Transformation Bill and Public Financial Management Bill.

He said that by yesterday morning there were two petitions against the Public Financial Management Bill and 17 petitions against the Economic Transformation Bill.Those petitions had been filed under the provisions of Article 121(1) OR 12(1) of the Constitution challenging the constitutionality of the two Bills.
