Moragoda pays farewell calls on top Indian bureaucrats
Continuing his farewell calls, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda paid farewell calls on the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India Dr. Pramod Kumar Mishra and the Union Home Secretary of India Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla recently, his office said.
The meetings took place at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Home Affairs respectively.
At both meetings, the High Commissioner recalled the close interactions he has had with these two top bureaucrats and thanked them for the assistance that they had extended to him personally as well as to Sri Lanka during his tenure in Delhi.
As tokens of appreciation and goodwill, Moragoda presented the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister and the Union Home Secretary stones obtained from the stream flowing besides the Seetha Amman Temple in Seetha Eliya (Ashoka Vatika) in Sri Lanka, which is believed to be the site where Seetha was held captive according to the Ramayana.
A cabinet rank official, Dr. Pramod Kumar Mishra has been serving as the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi since September 2019. Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla is an officer from the 1984 batch of the Indian Administrative Service. He has been serving as the Union Home Secretary since August 2019.
