Moragoda meets 12 Delhi-based Heads of Missions concurrently accredited to SL
As part of ongoing engagement with the 92 concurrently accredited Diplomatic Missions to Sri Lanka from New Delhi, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India Milinda Moragoda had a meeting with a group of 12 Heads of Mission early this week, a news release from his office said.
They included part of the 23 High Commissioners and Ambassadors who have received the Agrément of the Government of Sri Lanka and are to present credentials to the President of Sri Lanka shortly, it said.
High Commissioners and Ambassadors of Denmark, DPR Korea, Estonia, Kenya, Malawi, Malta, Paraguay, Peru, Rwanda, Somalia, Tunisia and Zimbabwe attended this meeting.
Welcoming the invited Heads of Mission Moragoda expressed his keenness in further strengthening Sri Lanka’s relations with their respective countries and pledged all possible support of his office to them in carrying out their duties.
He also said he’s coordinating with the relevant authorities in Colombo to organize a credentials ceremony for the concurrently accredited Heads of Mission- designate to present their Letters of Credence at the earliest.
In response, the concurrently accredited Heads of Mission-designate expressed their eagerness to visit Sri Lanka as soon as possible, the release said.
High Commissioner of Sri Lanka and the concurrently accredited Heads of Mission also discussed the ways and means of possible cooperation between Sri Lanka and their respective countries including opportunities for investment, trade and tourism, it added.
